Clinical/Research Interests

Dr. Kaplan is a Gastroenterologist with a clinical and research interest in the inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). The overarching theme of the research program is to use IBD patient registries and administrative databases to: a) explore how environmental factors, particularly air pollution, affect the development of IBD; and b) conduct health service and outcomes research to evaluate how risk factors influence outcomes after the diagnosis of IBD.
